We are pleased to announce the availability of LucidShape® and LucidDrive® version 2.1.

How to Get LucidShape and LucidDrive 2.1 Software

Currently installed and running LucidShape and LucidDrive software will automatically notify you of the availability of a newer version, and will ask you to download the LucidShape and LucidDrive 2.1 installation files. Please access the autoupdate server to download the installer and licenses. Alternatively, you can download LucidShape and LucidDrive 2.1 from the Synopsys LucidShape download center at https://www.synopsys.com/optical-solutions/lucidshape.html

For international customers working with a distributor, you will also be able to obtain software from your local LucidShape software distributor. See the Synopsys Optical Solutions Group Global Contacts page for contact information. If your country is not listed on the distributors page referenced above, please contact us at lucidshape_support@synopsys.com for instructions.

How to Get LucidShape and LucidDrive License Key Files

After you install LucidShape and LucidDrive 2.1, the software will ask for your username and password and then automatically connect to the LucidShape license server to download and install your license for you. If your network situation prevents LucidShape from doing that, please log in to the download center at https://www.synopsys.com/optical-solutions/lucidshape.html to obtain your license file.

New Features in LucidShape 2.1

LucidShape 2.1 includes the following key new features:

  • Upgrade to the TreeView functionality for improved performance and handling, particularly for large models

  • Simplified Visualize Module user interface with new presets and min/max range controls

  • New options for simulating glare effects in the Visualize Module Human Eye Vision Image (HEVI) interface

  • New volume scatter mechanism added: Gegenbauer model 

  • 3D BSDF: improved handling and interpolation of refractive BSDF

  • 2D BSDF curve wizard: upgraded data import options, improved curve handling
LucidShape 2.1

New Features in LucidDrive 2.1

LucidDrive 2.1 includes the following key new features:

  • New matrix beam AFS script with prepared solutions for 6 and 8 lighting elements

  • New options for defining color temperature and chromatic adaption to enhance the realism of LucidDrive's lighting simulations

  • New vehicle geometry for simulating nighttime driving conditions for left-hand traffic

  • Improved road libraries for fast preview and selection of road scenes

  • New MATLAB scripts to simulate dimming and swiveling headlamps
