LucidShape Products Version 2017.03 Available Now

We are pleased to announce the availability of version 2017.03 of the LucidShape and LucidDrive software products. We are also pleased to announce the commercial availability of the LucidShape CAA V5 Based product.

New Features in LucidShape and LucidDrive Version 2017.03

LucidShape: IIHS Headlight Test

The U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) headlight test provides the following types of analysis:

• Illuminance-based visibility range testing
• Glare test for oncoming traffic
• Overall headlight results, ranging from good to poor

LucidShape: MacroFocal Torus Optic Tool

The new MacroFocal Torus Optic tool creates pillow optics and cylinder flutes for decorative styling. It is particularly useful for designing signal lights and taillights, but can also be used to create and adjust any pillowed surface on a grid.

LucidShape and LucidDrive: Licensing Changes

Version 2017.03 of the LucidShape and LucidDrive software products use a new Synopsys licensing solution.

Software and License File Instructions

Beginning with version 2017.03, software and license keys for LucidShape and LucidDrive products are available on the Synopsys SolvNet website. Please review the following sections for instructions.

Direct-Sales Customers
Software and license keys for LucidShape and LucidDrive direct-sales customers are available on the Synopsys SolvNet website.

• LucidShape/LucidDrive product software: You can download LucidShape products at http://solvnet.synopsys.com/DownloadCenter.

If you do not already have a SolvNet account, information on how to sign up for one can be found in the LucidShape Installation Guide.

• License key: You will need version 2017.03 license keys for this LucidShape and LucidDrive release. You can download license keys from the SmartKeys page on SolvNet at https://solvnet.synopsys.com/SmartKeys.

Distributor Customers
For customers working with distributors, you will continue to obtain your software and license keys from your local LucidShape software distributor. Floating License Manager and GetHostID Updates

New OSG Floating License Manager

• A new Floating License Manager installer will now be included with the releases on SolvNet as a separate download along with the product installers.
  
  
• The new Floating License Manager is required for 2017.03 and future versions of LucidShape and LucidDrive.
  
  
• The new Floating License Manager does not support the Wibu CodeMeter dongle. Contact LucidShape support or your local software distributor for details.
  
  
• The Floating License Manager available on optics.synopsys.com is not compatible with LucidShape and LucidDrive. It will only work with LightTools and CODE V.

New GetHostID Utility

• A new GetHostID utility, version 11.0, is included with LucidShape and LucidDrive version 2017.03. For details about using the GetHostID utility, see the LucidShape Installation Guide.
