LucidShape CAA V5 Based version 2021.06, now available, makes it easier than ever for designers to achieve their objectives. This version includes unique capabilities to help designers explore design forms and styling options with speed and precision for improved automotive lighting design workflows.
Key Improvements Include:
Source Modeling and Positioning
Using the Surface Light Source, create sources with complex shapes by adding light emitting properties to the surface of any shape.
Select from multiple axis system types for sources and create copies of the source at mutliple locations with the Axis System Pattern.
Easily adjust tessellation parameters on individual actors for high-accuracy simulations while optimizing overall simulation performance.
Define a MacroFocal reflector or lens base grid with the Grid of Curves feature by selecting vertical and horizontal curves from CATIA.
Advanced Analysis Capabilities
Interactively analyze a light distribution to see if your system meets requirements model by performing measurements on points, splines, polygons, or CATIA Curves.
Analyze multiple lamps at one time by combining multiple UV Data files and taking measurements on the results.
Save measurement sets to reuse on different UV Data files.
Export measurements to a table for later review.
Select the surface on which a generated ray file will be recorded from the Ray File Sensor.
Select from multiple axis system types for sensors.
Illustrate qualitative lit appearance using the Light Flow Sensor.
Light Guide Design Module Improvements
Use the new Surface light guide option to create prisms as a single surface that is split from a solid light guide. This approach is similar to the LucidShape PrismBand feature and creates the prisms faster than the default Boolean approach.
Try the new Texture light guide option (an Alpha feature) to optimize laser-etched texture surfaces (where each surface is modeled as a LucidShape combo actor) along a light guide to achieve uniform lit appearance of the optical property and zones.
Construct user profiles more easily with new tools that allow you to use sampled points from a user curve projected into the reference plane and rotated according to a starting point and the direction that you specify.
Use newly added measured BSDF materials and media available in the SmartStart Library from MoldTech, Vergason, and others.
Compatible with CATIA V5 R30 (without service packs)
