New CODE V Resources on the Customer Support Portal

Q-Freeform UD1 Surface Type

A new Q-Freeform surface type is now available as a Synopsys-developed User-Defined Surface Type 1 (UD1) called cv_ud1_qfreeform.dll. The CODE V Q-Freeform surface shape is based on the mathematical formulations published by Dr. G.W. Forbes in his paper, "Characterizing the shape of freeform optics", Opt. Express 20, 2483-2499 (2012).

The cv_ud1_qfreeform.dll file is now available on the Customer Support Portal, along with release notes that provide implementation details, optimization suggestions, and examples.

Reverse_System Macro

The reverse_system.seq macro replaces ilrevers.seq (currently available on the CODE V Sample Macros > Utilities menu). Reverse_system flips the system (where the image becomes the object, and the object the image) using one of two modes. The Local coordinate mode is similar to the current ilrevers.seq functionality, so that each surface is locally defined relative to the preceding surface. Reverse_system also supports a Global coordinate mode that defines surface locations globally (using GLB decenters), with respect to the new object surface. The Global coordinate mode provides a more robust system reversal for systems that nominally include tilts and decenters.

The reverse_system.seq macro is now available on the Customer Support Portal.
