Quick Tip: Angle of Incidence Constraint

Maximum angle of incidence

Do you need to constrain angle of incidence in your optical system? Don’t forget about the maximum angle of incidence (MXA) constraint available within the general constraints in Automatic Design.

You can use MXA on all surfaces in your design, or only on surfaces that tend to have a high angle of incidence. This constraint can help you to easily guide your design to more manufacturable and less sensitive design forms, leading to better yield in the production of your optical systems.

User Group Meeting Presentations Available

In September, we hosted CODE V User Group Meetings featuring presentation topics ranging from CODE V case studies and usage tips to what’s new in the software.

If you weren't able to attend a meeting, we've uploaded the presentation PDFs and meeting recordings to the Customer Support Portal so you can benefit from this year's topics. When you log in, you'll find the following presentations:

  • CODE V 11.5 and CODE V 11.5 SR 1 New Features
  • CODE V Tips and Tricks
  • Representations of Off-Axis Conics for Lens Design
  • Tolerancing Macros for CODE V
  • Scientific Images from Jezero – The Optics That Make it Happen
