CODE V 11.2 Service Release (SR1) Available Now

We are pleased to announce that CODE V 11.2 Service Release 1 (SR1) is now available with the following updates.

  • New material catalog for Heraeus Quarzglas Fused Silica materials (_HERAEUS)
  • New material catalog for Mitsui & Co. Plastics, Ltd., APEL polymers (_MITSUI)
  • Updates to the Hoya and Ohara optical glass catalogs
  • Several bug fixes

Software and License File Instructions

Direct-Sales Customers 

Software and license keys for CODE V direct-sales customers are available on the Synopsys SolvNet website. 

  • CODE V product software: You can download CODE V at

  • License key: CODE V 11.2 SR1 will continue to use version 11.2 license codes. If you have not previously installed CODE V 11.2, you will need to procure a new license file from SolvNet. You can download license keys from the SmartKeys page on SolvNet at

  • Brief instructions for installing CODE V 11.2 SR1 are available in the readme file that you can download from SolvNet. Complete instructions for installing CODE V are available in the CODE V Installation Guide.

Glass Catalog Updates

Updates to the CODE V material database are now available for download from Download links and installation instructions can be found on this page. For information about glasses affected by this update, refer to the History of CODE V Glass Database Changes on our website.

Please note that the glass catalog files are not compatible with CODE V version 11.0 or earlier.

CODE V Textbook Raffle

You can also obtain your copy from the SPIE bookstore online or at the show. The book demonstrates how to design optical systems using CODE V, from lens definition to the description and evaluation of lens errors and onto the improvement of lens performance.
