CODE V Book Giveaway

Read any good books lately? Well, we want to help by suggesting “Designing Optics with CODE V” by Don O’Shea and Julie Bentley! And even better, we are giving away two copies! 

Win your own copy by entering our CODE V book giveaway! ONE LUCKY STUDENT and ONE LUCKY PROFESSOR will receive a copy of this invaluable resource on how to design an optical system using Synopsys' CODE V. 

To enter: 

Send an email to osg_educ@synopsys.com from your university email address (sorry, no personal email addresses will be accepted)

Include in the email:

  • Subject: "CODE V Book Giveaway"
  • Your name, University, Status (student, professor)

Entrant names will be dropped into a hat and the winners will be chosen at random on May 1. The winners will be notified by email. 

Good luck! If you don't win, no problem. Copies are available on the SPIE website. 

Student Design Competition

Working on an interesting class project or thesis? 

Our annual student optical design competition is coming up!! Don't miss out! 

As a student, you are invited to enter an optical design or research you worked on during the 2021-2022 school year. This could be a class assignment or thesis work using CODE V, LightTools, LucidShape, RSoft Photonic Device Tools, and Photonic Solutions. Entries are due June 15, 2022. Awards totaling $20,000 will be granted. Visit our website to learn how to enter your project. 

Important Tips: Be sure to read the competition rules. Please note that we require all submissions to honor the 10-page limit.
