This 5-day online course covers the basics of designing, simulating and, analyzing automotive lighting system optics using LucidShape.
It assumes familiarity with optics concepts and terminology.
• Design the optics for simple automotive lighting systems
• Simulate complex automotive lighting systems
• Evaluate a system to determine its performance and use industry-standard test tables to confirm regulation conformity
The course consists of Four sessions held from Tuesday to Friday with breaks at appropriate times and uses Zoom meetings web conferencing.
The times of the Basic Training are set up so that European and North American customers can participate.
the course starts at 9:00 a.m. (CET)
Attendees are required to provide their own computers with the latest version of LucidShape installed.
LucidShape software must be installed before attending the class. A download link to course materials will be provided prior to the class. Please email lucidshape_support@synopsys.com for help on setting up the laptop before the first day of class or to verify that you can access Zoom Meetings.
Any engineer or designer who wants to learn to use LucidShape to design or analyze automotive lighting systems will benefit from this course. In addition to new users, part-time users may also benefit from attending this course.
The fee for this short course is $1500/€1500 depending on the attendee’s location.
Attendance is limited, though minimum enrollments must be met. Pre-registration with payment must be made at least one week before the start of the course. The fee is refundable up to that point. (A $200/€200 fee is charged for later cancellations.

LucidShape is a powerful 3D software for computer-aided design, simulation and analysis of illumination optical systems, primarily used for automotive lighting applications. Its strengths are that it is the fastest and easiest software to design today’s faceted segmented reflectors and lenses for lighting applications.
LucidShape CAA V5 Based is an interactive development environment for optical simulation and analysis integrated into the CATIA V5 platform, available for CATIA V5 R24, R25, and R26.
LucidDrive is a standalone night driving simulation tool for evaluation of vehicle headlamp beam patterns under simulated, realistic conditions prior to expensive fabrication and hardware testing.
