We are happy to announce the launch of Simpleware AS Ortho (Auto Segmenter for Orthopedics), a new Simpleware ScanIP software module for automated segmentation of medical images. Simpleware AS Ortho is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology using Machine Learning (ML) algorithms.

Embedded in our powerful Simpleware ScanIP software platform and building on our established medical image segmentation capabilities, the new module significantly reduces traditional bottlenecks around manual segmentation of hips and knees. With Simpleware AS Ortho, you’ll see a 20 to 50 times faster rate of segmentation, meaning that previously tedious work is reduced or eliminated altogether to free up engineering time and resources for analysis and innovation.

Simpleware AS Ortho is specifically designed for applications involving the knee and hip joints, and is fully scalable to achieve greater consistency and increased reliability when segmenting medical images. The automated tools dramatically streamline workflows for pre-surgical planning and medical device design. New applications are being developed for continuous release and improvements, with options also available for users wanting any customization or workflows for different anatomies through Simpleware Custom Modeler.
