Nearly every software application in every industry contains open source code. Financial services is no exception. Given the sensitive data, government oversight, and public scrutiny associated with the financial services industry (FSI), you might think its software is more secure than other industries. Unfortunately, this isn't the case—and open source is one of the main culprits.

Using data from the Open Source Security and Risk Analysis report, this paper homes in on the FSI and its open source use and vulnerabilities. More than 160 financial services and FinTech organizations were analyzed for security, licensing, and operational risks.

Download the paper to learn how much of the open source software in the FSI is secure, how much contains vulnerabilities, what types of vulnerabilities are most prevalent, and what steps you can take to manage the risk in your organization.
