Automotive software, once limited to a few components within the vehicle, has become complex and interconnected, the result of new consumer-facing features. Cars today have on average over 100 million lines of code, more than that for Facebook This has led to unstructured software growth, which, if left unchecked, opens the assembled vehicles to unforeseen vulnerabilities. As a result there is a need for greater software testing and assurance in the automotive industry today.
