RSoft Photonic Component Design Suite 2017.09 Service Release 1 (2017.09-1) Now Available

The RSoft Component Design Suite 2017.09 Service Release 1 (2017.09-1) for Windows, now available, provides the following updates:

  • Usability improvements to S-Matrix/PDK Generation Utility, including:
    • Automatic generation of OptSim icon and improved port placement
    • Automated 3D launch
    • Example updates reflecting the above improvements
    • OptSim patch update (required to see new icons)
  • Customizable feature to load standard material system settings
  • Improved FullWAVE stability in dispersive problems
  • Miscellaneous additions and improvements

PIC Training Silicon Valley 2017

After two successful training events in 2015 and 2016 with very enthusiastic reactions, a third training is now organized in the week of Nov 13-17, 2017 at Tektronix in Santa Clara, California. The training is a one-stop-shop and covers all the essential topics for producing PICs - system aspects, component tutorial, simulations and chip layout, foundry services (all material systems - Si, InP, and dielectrics), packaging, test and measurement, and business/marketing essentials. It is supported by a broad consortium of over 20 PIC companies and is hands-on, in-depth and practical.

Europractice Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Training

Hands-on sessions using tools from PhoeniX and Synopsys

Leuven, Belgium

Please join us for a hands-on session with photonic design automation tools. The first part is an introductory tutorial session on PICs and their access via multi-project wafer (MPW) runs, as well as presentations from various PIC foundries. The second and third parts include hands-on training covering different elements of automated PIC design, from modeling to mask layout. The session is also an excellent opportunity for networking with fellow experts.
