Optical system designers often need to make use of fine- scale features to help shape and control light fields. Laser systems, photonic and fiber-based optics, DMD devices, diffractive systems, and polarizing elements are used with ever-increasing frequency to meet design needs.  These systems challenge engineers and designers to accurately predict how light will behave.  Often, these types of systems have dimensions spanning from microns to millimeters, which presents interesting challenges as well.  Accurate tools for modeling physical optics, beam propagation and polarization effects are essential to ensure proper system performance.

This webinar will explore the useful and powerful capabilities for analyzing optical fields and their propagation through optical systems in the Synopsys’ CODE V® optical design software.  Particular focus will be given to Beam Synthesis Propagation, a powerful method for modeling physical optics systems.
