PIC Design Suite in PH18: TowerJazz Open Foundry Silicon Photonics Process Webinar

Design QPSK Transceivers with our Complete PIC Design Suite on a Commercial Foundry Process

Join us for this webinar in which TowerJazz and Synopsys will demonstrate QPSK transmitter and receiver PIC design case studies using the Synopsys photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design suite. Based on the TowerJazz silicon photonics PH18 technology, the webinar will focus on the complete suite of PIC design and manufacturing solutions featuring OptSim Circuit, OptoDesigner and IC Validator.

The presenters will introduce TowerJazz’s key process and PDK features of the PH18 process and demonstrate the top-down design flow using OptSim Circuit for PIC schematic entry and simulation, and OptoDesigner for PIC layout, design rule checking and mask generation. The final layout is verified against its original schematic netlist using IC Validator.

Please join us on one of these dates:

  • July 16, 2019, 10 am CET (For EU and Asia audiences)
  • July 16, 2019, 10 am PDT (For U.S. audience)

One hour is planned for this webinar, including Q&A sessions.

What You Will Learn

  • Key features of the PH18 silicon photonics process and PDK
  • Overview of the integrated photonic design ecosystem
  • How to create and simulate a PIC design schematic in OptSim Circuit
  • How to generate the mask layout design in OptoDesigner with the OptSim Circuit and OptoDesigner bi-directional interface
  • Photonics Design Rule Checking (DRC) using OptoDesigner
  • Mask layout generation in OptoDesigner
  • The LVS feature in OptoDesigner and check in IC Validator

Who Should Attend

The TowerJazz PDK is used to develop high-speed, coherent optical transceivers in data center interconnects. R&D engineers and managers interested in understanding the TowerJazz silicon platform, Synopsys PICs, and the role of software automation in PIC design and fabrication, should attend this webinar.
