Session 4: Manufacturing Embedded Photonics

Synopsys Products and Services

Synopsys will demo the following optical datacom and high-speed IP solutions at OFC 2020.

RSoft Photonic Device Tools

The RSoft Photonic Device Tools support the design and simulation of both passive and active photonic devices for optical communications, optoelectronics, and semiconductor manufacturing. The demo will highlight the latest innovations in the tools, such as new features that advance the design of optics used in AR/VR systems, as well as photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and the creation of process design kits (PDKs).

Photonic System Tools
The Photonic System Tools, which include OptSim and ModeSYS, provide a virtual testbed to design data center, long-haul and automotive optical interconnects, aerospace & defense radio-over-fiber systems, sensor systems, time-of-flight and LiDAR systems.

PIC Design Suite
Synopsys is driving the advancement of photonic integrated circuit technologies with its PIC Design Suite, which includes the OptSim Circuit and OptoDesigner tools. The demo will show how the PIC Design Suite offers a seamless design flow with photonic-aware physical layout capabilities complemented by support for foundry-specific PDKs.

DesignWare 112G Ethernet PHY IP

See a demonstration of Synopsys’ DesignWare 112 Ethernet PHY IP performance, enabling PAM-4 long reach connectivity in up to 800G high-performance computing and networking SoCs. The IP with leading power, performance, and area is available in advanced FinFET processes, supporting optical, copper cables, and backplane interconnects.
