Day1: Simulation I

  • Basics of forward ray trace, ray trace methods, material types, and ray files

Day 2: Functional Geometry

  • Profile curves and surfaces theory, 3 major mathematical methods and applications, collimator lends, compensation of ray deviation, "neutral" surfaces

Day 3: Simulation II and General Topics

  • Advanced material types, lit appearance, analysis, and spectral simulation, Benchmark TC4-45, LID Editor for beam pattern combination, global settings, ray trace spooler, CAD-like operations in LucidShape, data conversion.

Attendees are responsible for providing their own laptops for use in the class.

LucidShape CAA V5 Based Info Day

LucidShape CAA V5 Based is an interactive development environment for optical simulation and analysis integrated into the CATIA V5 R24 platform. During the Info Day, we will demonstrate workflows and real-life case studies, including reflector headlamp, projector headlamp and pixel light designs.

We will also present the capabilities of a planned Light Guide Design Module, which is currently in development and available for trial use as a Beta version.

Join us for our annual LucidShape User Group Meeting held in the Americas. This free meeting will feature a series of informative talks by current customers who have successfully used LucidShape for their automotive lighting designs. In addition, Synopsys engineers will conduct workshops on the latest LucidShape features and other topics that will be helpful in your use of the software.

This event is free of charge, but reservations are required.

  • F-Start, gaps, advanced grids, multiple light sources

  • MF Reflector low beam with multi-chip LED

Day 2:

  • Projector-type headlamp
  • LS Script
  • Lit appearance

Attendees are responsible for providing their own laptops for use in the class.

LucidShape Basic Training: $2,000
LucidShape Advanced Training: $1,400

Tuition includes all materials, temporary individual license code for LucidShape for use in the class and for a period following, break beverages and lunches. Tuition must be paid in full prior to attendance.
