We are pleased to announce that LucidShape CAA V5 Based 2019.06 is now available. This includes the following key features.
Expanded Surface Sensor Capabilities
The surface sensor introduced in version 2018.09 to facilitate analyzing illuminance/irradiance on a curved surface has new capabilities in this version that enable you to:
The surface sensor now also supports color analysis, with an RGB surface display type for spectral simulations, as well as CIE xy, XYZ, and RGB color quantities for the measurement options. This functionality enables you to analyze, measure, and visualize color effects directly in the part design view.
Ray Result Filtering by Surface
A new Surface Result Filter allows you to filter the rays recorded on a sensor based on their interactions with specified surfaces. For example, you can record only rays that hit a surface last, rays that hit at least one of the specified surfaces, or rays that hit all of the specified surfaces during a simulation. This can be used to model the behavior of parts that interfere with light distribution. The following low beam headlamp projector example shows UV Data Views without filtering (left) and after applying a Surface Result Filter (right).
You can choose any geometry that is part of an actor as a filter surface, and you can use the Surface Result Filter with all LucidShape CAA sensors.
STL Import Capability
In this release, you can load any number of stereolithography (.stl) files into a part (limited only by memory). Files can be in binary or ASCII format.
Support for CATA V5 R27 and R28 and Windows 10
Version 2019.06 supports CATIA V5 R27 and R28 on Windows 10 for these two versions. In addition, we support LucidShape CAA 2019.06 on CATIA V5 R25 and R26 on Windows 7.
Enhancements to the Light Guide Design Module
New features in the Light Guide Design Module include support for multiple light guides in one part, angle-coupling optimization, and a surface sensor option for the exit surface. See the release notes for details about these and additional features and usability enhancements in this separately licensed module.
