The Synopsys ARC® Audio Dolby Digital® 5.1 Creator is a high-quality audio encoder offering designers a targeted feature set, including the capability of delivering up to 5.1 channels, with reduced complexity. The encoder permits sample rates of 48 kHz, and supports data rates ranging from 64 kbps (kilobits-per-second) to 640 kbps. It operates on a frame of 1536 PCM samples, where a frame is subdivided into six blocks of 256 samples each. Additionally, a Dolby Digital Compatible Output (DDCO) for Blu-ray Disc™ can also be created.
