MIPI DevCon

Grand Hyatt Taipei
Taipei City, Taiwan
October 18, 2019                        8:30 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.

MIPI DevCon Taipei highlights how MIPI technology is facilitating new capabilities within mobile and being extended to markets such as AI, IoT, automotive, wearables, industrial and augmented/virtual reality.

Stop by Synopsys' booth to network with experts and see how you can incorporate MIPI's latest camera and sensor protocols into your SoCs with Synopsys' silicon-proven DesignWare CSI-2 and I3C Controllers, D-PHY, and Verification IP. Also see a demo of Synopsys' UFS controller IP interoperating with a high-performance UFS card. Attend Synopsys' presentation to find out how to Enable MIPI Camera Applications Including Automotive ADAS.

Synopsys Demos

Demo Hours: 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

  • DesignWare MIPI CSI-2 Host Controller IP and D-PHY IP, illustrating how high-performance image data travels between a CSI-2 device and Synopsys' CSI-2 host via the MIPI D-PHY, and is then processed through an HDMI output
  • DesignWare MIPI I3C IP and the latest Linux 5.1 I3C device driver connected to an I3C accelerometer, illustrating how designers can easily transition to I3C and take advantage of the standards' bandwidth and efficiency advantages
  • Verification IP, illustrating camera and display VIP for IoT, security, automotive, and drone applications, focusing on latest MIPI CSI-2 and DSI-2 protocols along with C-PHY and D-PHY; also covering UVM source code test cases for packet/transaction transfers from end-to-end and two-way transfers using the Bus Turn-Around feature for DSI-2
  • DesignWare UFS Host Controller IP, illustrating successful interoperability with a high-performance UFS flash card at high speeds

Synopsys Presentation

Enabling MIPI Camera Applications Including Automotive ADAS

Synopsys will discuss MIPI camera use-cases and advantages in vision-based automotive Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications such as radar, LiDAR and autonomous driving. Designers can benefit from the many advantages of MIPI camera interfaces, including low-latency and high-bandwidth; however, designers must also adhere to numerous stringent automotive standards while designing their SoCs. This presentation will describe automotive ADAS designs with MIPI camera interface solutions such as CSI-2 and D-PHY. The presentation will also outline other MIPI automotive protocols, including I3C® and DSI, as well as explain the benefits of using compliant ASIL Ready, ISO 26262 certified, and AEC-Q100 qualified MIPI IP.

Presenter: Kelvin Xu, product marketing manager, Synopsys
