Synopsys Season of Sharing Brings Over 2,500 Volunteer Hours to Communities Worldwide

For hundreds of Synopsys employees the winter break meant more than shopping and exchanging presents. Instead, these volunteers focused on giving back and getting involved in their local communities around the world. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to make a positive impact where employees live and work, the annual Season of Sharing campaign empowers Synopsoids and their families and friends to use their creativity and energy to make a difference during the global holiday season, from November through January. More than $200,000 was donated to a range of charities and nonprofit organizations.

Global Impact in Local Communities

Employees engaged in community activities and team building events, volunteered at nonprofits, and donated in giving drives. Over $65,000 in company matching gifts further increased the impact of employee donations, helping to sustain partnerships with local agencies and provide critical support for food banks and community service groups. Season of Sharing is a global program with 22 teams at 14 Synopsys sites in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific participating in 38 organized and company-sponsored activities. Many more individual efforts and volunteering demonstrated how employees care about improving their local community. Global efforts included:

  • 951 volunteers, including individual Synopsys employees, teams, and other volunteers
  • 2,518 volunteer hours
  • $202,223 total donated

Headquarters Employees Support the Bay Area

From sorting food and donating toys and books to creating materials for hands-on learning kits for students, Synopsys employees in Mountain View/Sunnyvale, California continued support for Bay Area organizations. 707 volunteers provided 1,610 service hours to nonprofits such as Sunnyvale Community Services, Stop Hunger Now, Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT), Stanford Blood Center, and others.

More than $140,000 was donated through employee giving and company matching gifts. In continued support of longstanding partnerships with Second Harvest Food Bank of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties (SHFB) and Family Giving Tree (FGT), the employee giving drive increased donations more than 50 percent over 2013 totals. $34,176 and 1,162 pounds of food and $7,791 and 178 gifts were donated to SHFB and FGT, respectively, in addition to volunteer hours.
