Hands-on Science Learning
Synopsys is made up of leading technologists who enable the advanced electronic devices of the future, and in our charitable efforts, we empower our employees to inspire and foster the world’s next generation of technologists. We sponsor science fairs and contribute to primary and secondary STEM education programs. This is driven by the incredible passion and dedication of our employees, who enrich the lives of others in the fields they know best.
Synopsys Outreach Foundation
Founded in 1999, the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Outreach Foundation (Outreach Foundation) promotes project-based learning among K-12 teachers and students in California and select U.S. Synopsys offices in the region. More than 1 million students and teachers have participated in the program since its inception.
The Outreach Foundation offers a program of teacher grants and training, grants to schools for materials and equipment, administrative support, project supplies, and incentives for teachers and students who are developing science projects for competitions. The Outreach Foundation is the major sponsor of The Synopsys Championship, sciencepalooza!, science-o-rama!, and other science fair programs.
The Outreach Foundation is Synopsys’ signature program and the centerpiece of our donations at corporate headquarters in Silicon Valley. The program is also active at the Hillsboro School District in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Please visit the Outreach Foundation’s website for more information.
Regional Science Fairs – North America
Our offices in Austin, Texas; Marlborough, Massachusetts; and Mountain View, California support regional science fairs in which students compete for prizes and the chance to advance to the annual Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Engineers from the three offices also provide the valuable resource of their time and talent to be judges at regional fairs.
Science and Math Education - Asia Pacific
Synopsys employees at our offices throughout Asia lead science and math programs that support disadvantaged students, helping to ensure these children have an opportunity to compete in the global economy. Synopsys leads programs in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Noida, India; Taipei, Taiwan; and Shanghai, China. Synopsys India funds rural science vans through the Agastya Foundation and launched a science center at the Parikrma School for slum children. In Taiwan we partner with the National Taiwan Science Education Center; in China we built the Synopsys Yongming Primary School and continue to provide scholarships for students in need to attend the school.
