Hands-on strategies to counter common web application attacks

attack and defense strategies to counter common web application attacks

We’re excited to announce a new addition to our eLearning library: Attack & Defense.

What’s this course all about?

Web applications are becoming an increasingly high-value target for hackers looking to make a quick buck, damage reputations, or just boost their “street cred.” There is no shortage of publicly known attack tools and techniques, and software developers are outnumbered at the front line of defense.

In order to write secure code, it’s paramount for developers to know what they’re up against. This course teaches a technical audience how vulnerabilities are discovered and exploited in the real world, and how to build a strong line of defense. Attendees learn actionable, defensive strategies to incorporate into their organization’s current software development life cycle (SDLC). With hands-on techniques for attacking web applications, attendees learn how defenses tie into the SDLC to mitigate these attacks.

Who should attend this course?

As an intermediate course offering, prior programming and general web application knowledge is beneficial. The material covered in Attack & Defense targets software developers, architects, security professionals, and system administrators.

What will attendees take away from this course?

By the end of this eLearning course, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize security flaws in web applications.
  • Build defenses against common web application vulnerabilities.
  • Use tools and techniques to test your own applications for vulnerabilities.
  • Implement application features that enhance your users’ security posture.

If you’re already using the eLearning library, you can access the Attack & Defense course here.
