EST Internet Explorer Support


Introduction:

 If you have a problem connecting to Synopsys ftp servers using Internet Explorer, the following are some of the most common issues that customers experience. Try the following suggestions first. If these do not work, please check with your network administrator to see if there are any proxy configuration settings on your network/gateway that might be causing FTP connection or download problems. 

Note: HTTPS Downloads are available as an alternative to FTP. 

Problem: You are able to connect to the Synopsys ftp servers via the web interface at http://www.synopsys.com/cgi-bin/est.cgi but once you attempt to log in or download a file you get an error message,  "The page cannot be displayed". (This happens after seeing the legal page and checking on "Yes, I agree to the above Terms")

Note: These solutions may not work for all users at all times!

Possible Solutions:

  • Please type the following in the URL: "ftp://your-solvnet-username:your-solvnet-password@ftp.synopsys.com" once you connect click on the "rev" directory. Find the product directory you want. Click on the file(s) to begin the download process. 

 
  • If the suggestion above does not work for you, you should contact your network administrator to see if there is a security proxy at your site that is preventing you from completing this transaction. If you know there is a security proxy at your site please contact your network administrator. In some cases you may have to use a direct command line session. See command line instructions

SolvNet Username/Password related issues:

If you experience password problems while connecting to our Web site, please go to this URL: https://solvnet.synopsys.com to change your password, get a new one, or to register. 

Problem: On the Synopsys SolvNet login page,

You get to the login window and type in your SolvNet username: and your SolvNet password and click "sign in". 

If you get an error message saying:
"Invalid login. Please try again". 

You may have typed in the wrong username or password. Click on the Forgot your Username or Password link. 

If you have not previously registered to use SolvNet/EST, you will need to do so at the following SolvNet link Register Today. If you have questions or problems with SolvNet registration please go to the following link: SolvNet Help

Once you have registered in SolvNet you can go back to the EST download page. If you still cannot login with the new SolvNet username and password please contact est-adm@synopsys.com.
