University Programs

University Program Overview

The Synopsys Worldwide University Program provides industry-leading EDA tools and resources for teaching and academic research to numerous universities around the globe. Using Synopsys products in a learning environment provides students with hands-on experience and enables graduates to quickly bring valuable skills to the fast paced world of semiconductor technology. Benefits of membership in the program include access to technical support, training, curriculum and more.

Membership
To request membership information and to learn more about the Synopsys University Program please contact our regional representatives below.

North America/South America
To apply for the first time or to renew your membership, please complete the membership application form including details of the projects and/or curriculum that will utilize Synopsys tools. Instructor and site administrator contacts responsible for the program administration and on-site technical support are required. Participating universities agree to use the software for teaching and academic research purposes only. Once the application is approved, a quote will be provided based on the tool package(s) requested. Please allow 2 full weeks for your request to be processed. Europe
Synopsys works with EUROPRACTICE to provide access to Synopsys' industry-leading EDA tools for non-commercial teaching and advanced research. Support and training are provided by EUROPRACTICE. For more information, contact: EUROPRACTICE

Technical Support
Technical support for tool installation, tool usage and problem resolution is available for all University Program members. To enter a support call, Professors in the University Program contact database may contact the Synopsys Support Center at (800) 245-8005 or email: support_center@synopsys.com.

SolvNet is also available 24-hours-a-day for access to a broad range of technical and support resources including our knowledge base of over 4,000 technical articles on the latest design methodologies and tool tips. SolvNet ID and password are required.

Note: Requesting support using the SolvNet web-based system is not available to universities. Please use the email or call number provided above to request support. Students should forward questions to professors who can access SolvNet and the Support Center.

Training
Training is available to all professors at member universities through Synopsys Customer Education Services. Professors can attend tool training workshops at any Synopsys training center (applies to Synopsys-taught courses only) on a space available basis. The courses vary from introductory level to advanced design methodology.

Note: Training options may vary slightly by region. Questions about professor training may be addressed to the University Program Marketing Team.
