Synopsys China at ICCAD
The 2006 annual ICCAD executive conference provided a showcase for Synopsys’ industry expertise and advanced development technology.
ICCAD is the annual executive conference organized by CSIA (China Semiconductor Industry Association). Held in Zhuhai, China, the conference focuses on the evolution of the IC industry by promoting collaboration between domestic and overseas enterprises. A key objective is to provide a platform for communication across design and manufacturing enterprises locally in China and in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and further abroad.
At this year’s conference a number of important business and market issues were aired, including the role of government policy in determining industry development, how intellectual property (IP) can be established and protected, steps towards the successful commercialization of innovative IC products, international technology cooperation and IP exchange, as well as several other topics relevant to the growth of the industry in the region.
A high proportion of the conference attendees were senior-level executives from design houses, foundries, government institutions, and universities. Synopsys and other EDA vendors have actively participated in the event for a number of years. The involvement of representatives from the EDA industry ensures that the conference discussions are given an up-to-date perspective on the latest design tools and techniques to enable advanced IC development.
Synopsys’ Jianyue Pan, Director and Country Manger of P. R. China, gave one of the keynote presentations to the conference on ‘Innovation of IC Design in China’. In addition, a technical presentation on ‘Design and Verification Productivity with SystemVerilog’ provided the audience with Synopsys’ perspective on the latest developments with the SystemVerilog language and the benefits it can deliver to the design process, as well as verification.
The 2006 ICCAD proved to be another highly successful event for Synopsys, providing an opportunity to build on existing relationships with many customers and to introduce the company to a growing number of new entrants within the IC industry.
