Investing in the High-Tech Workforce of Tomorrow

Synopsys is dedicated to advancing science education to contribute to the growth and development of the students of today who will form the high-tech workforce of tomorrow. With an initial donation of $3 million from Synopsys, the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Outreach Foundation engages students and teachers in science and technology, primarily through participation in science fairs.

Science Fairs: Where the Best Ideas Come From
The Synopsys Outreach Foundation works to promote project-based learning among K-12 teachers and students in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Contra Costa Counties, Fremont Unified School District, and select schools affiliated with regional offices of Synopsys, Inc. by encouraging participation in science fairs. In addition to serving as the major sponsor of the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship, Foundation programs and events include sciencepalooza!, science-o-rama!, The Advanced Science Research Facility, Advanced Science Research Classes, and the newly established Synopsys Outreach Foundation SuperSchool.

Founded in July 1999, the Synopsys Outreach Foundation offers a program of teacher grants and training, grants to schools for materials and equipment, administrative support, project supplies, and incentives for teachers and students who are developing science projects for competition. By 2004-05, the Foundation had grown to support over 79,000 students and teachers annually engaged in project-based learning. For more information about the Synopsys Outreach Foundation please visit:
