Verification FastForward Migration Program

FastForward to 2x Faster Verification Closure with VCS

The Verification FastForward Migration Program accelerates customers' transition to the Synopsys VCS functional verification solution. Numerous large, mid-size, and small companies, all spanning various vertical segments have leveraged the verification FastForward program to quickly and safely migrate to VCS while taking advantage of VCS’ many productivity and quality advantages as well as achieving 2x faster verification closure.

The FastForward program provides technical services, training, and expert verification support. As part of the program, users can expect services such as support for OVM and UVM class libraries, migration of scripts, verification IPs (VIP), and regression environments, as well as training for the efficient migration to VCS and the UVM methodology. With a track record of numerous successful migrations to date, FastForward alleviates schedule disruptions, shortens learning curves, and accelerates post-migration ramp up.

For over 15 years, industry leaders have used VCS for their verification environments. Over the many years, VCS and its world class support staff have been entrusted with verifying the world’s most advanced designs while developing and acquiring innovative technologies, verification expertise, methodologies and best practices.

Contact us TODAY to see if you qualify for a limited-time zero-cost risk-free assessment of your verification environment and to start your path towards faster verification closure with VCS.

The Most Complex Designs and Verification Environments Leverage VCS

Industry-leading designers of today’s most advanced designs rely on the Synopsys VCS functional verification solution for their verification environments. In fact, 90% of designs at 32nm and below are verified with VCS. Used by a majority of the world’s top 20 semiconductor companies as their primary verification solution, VCS provides the high performance simulation engines, constraint solver engines, Native Testbench (NTB) support, broad SystemVerilog support, verification planning, coverage analysis and closure, and an integrated debug environment.

World Class Technology Leadership

VCS delivers a 2x verification speed-up that helps users find design bugs early in the product development cycle. VCS multicore technology cuts down verification time by running the design, testbench, assertions, coverage and debug in parallel on machines with multiple cores. The combination of performance, advanced bug-finding technologies, testbench coverage convergence for faster closure with Echo™, a built-in debug and visualization environment, support for all popular design and verification languages including Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, OpenVera, and SystemC™, and the support of standards-based SystemVerilog verification methodologies such as VMM, OVM, and UVM™ all assist VCS users in developing high-quality designs.

VCS advanced bug-finding technologies include full-featured NTB support, complete assertions and comprehensive code and functional coverage to find more design bugs quickly and more easily. VCS solution’s powerful debug and visualization environment minimizes the turnaround time to find and fix design bugs. For low power design and applications, VCS with MVSIM and MVRC delivers innovative voltage-aware verification techniques to find bugs related to low power constructs and devices implemented into the designs. Additionally, the VCS Verification Library provides high-quality VIP for today’s most popular bus and interface standards.

More about VCS

Case Study #1

Video Compression ICs

Through the Verification FastForward Migration Program, Synopsys services and support teams worked with the verification team at this company to successfully migrate their SystemVerilog verification/regression environment to VCS. They achieved up to 4x faster regression cycle immediately after their migration to VCS (Figure 1).

Company Profile
  • Innovative video compression semiconductor start up
  • Based in Boston area
  • Designs: Scalable H.264 video coding, full 1080p on single chip

Case Study #2

Global Mil-Aero Company

This company's verification throughput was a significant concern and was mainly in the area of gate-level simulation. Their smallest testbench took anywhere from 12 to over 26 times longer to run on their other verification environment when compared to VCS. The customer saw their largest performance gains when using VCS with multicore enabled (Figure 2).

Company Profile
  • Developer of advanced systems for defense, aerospace, and security applications
  • East coast design center

Verification Profile
  • Verilog design and testbench
  • Smaller testbench simulations took 12 - 26 times longer with previous solution
  • Only VCS is able to simulate their larger testbenches
  • VCS now allows customer to simulate with SDF
