PrimeTime Special Interest Group (SIG) at DAC 2011

The Synopsys PrimeTime SIG is an active community for all PrimeTime users and design engineers who want to stay connected with the latest developments in the field of Static Timing Analysis (STA).

PrimeTime SIG at DAC 2011

A PrimeTime SIG event was held in San Diego during DAC on Monday, June 6, 2011. One hundred and sixty PrimeTime users and managers attended the event from more than sixty semiconductor companies. The theme of this SIG was Next-generation ECO Guidance Technology.

Customer presentations are available for download from SolvNet.

Speakers

Dr. Colin Hui
Deputy Director, Design Enablement - Design infrastructure
GLOBALFOUNDRIES

Colin was the session chair for the PrimeTime SIG at DAC 2011 event. He introduced the topic and the speakers of the evening and moderated the Q&A panel.

Venkataraman Srinivasagam
Technical Lead Engineer
Cisco Systems, Inc.

Venkat presented hold fixing ECO results on a multi-voltage design. He shared how he was able to achieve, within a couple of hours, a 98+% fix rate with 25% less ECO changes on a multi-scenario run.

Bruce Zahn
Distinguished Engineer – Design Methodology
LSI

Bruce highlighted LSI’s collaboration on deploying Next-Generation ECO with fast setup fixing results on multiple designs. He mentioned this would be the solution of choice for their future designs.

Hsiao-Pin (Robin) Su
Senior Principal Scientist – IC Design
Broadcom Corporation

Robin touched upon one of the key values of Next-Generation ECO, which allowed him to run 33 scenarios with just 9 cores, and provided comparable QoR and a minimal impact to runtime.

Stefano Cavallucci
Lead ASIC design engineer
STMicroelectronics

Stefano focused on hold fixing with 60 scenarios on a highly congested design, and how Next-Generation ECO was able to cut down the TAT by half.

Ken Rousseau, VP of Engineering, PrimeTime R&D, Synopsys, Inc. kicking off the event.
