Talus Implementation System

Talus Vortex
Talus Vortex is the flagship implementation product from the Magma acquisition. The Talus Vortex implementation system provides a full-featured netlist-to-GDSII flow for nanometer designs at or above 28nm. Talus Vortex offers optimization, placement, routing, clock generation, floorplanning and power planning, incremental RC extraction and timing analysis.

Hydra
Hydra is the hierarchical design planning solution used with Talus Vortex. Hydra combines designer expertise with automation to enable users to evaluate design feasibility of multimillion-cell designs. Predictable handoff to physical implementation is realized through: out-of-the-box reference flows that accelerate floorplan prototyping; advanced hierarchy-aware physical optimization and constraint budgeting to accurately predict timing; and integration of common analysis engines within a unified data model, enabling designers to reliably achieve design closure.

Tekton and QCP Options to Talus Vortex
Key enablers of the Talus Vortex fast and accurate MMMC ability are the Talus MX Timer and Talus MX Extractor based on Tekton and QCP engines. The tight integration of this technology as an implementation-mode, fully-incremental timer and extractor allows Talus Vortex to handle full constraints throughout the entire flow and to deliver better accuracy and correlation.

Pro Option to Talus Vortex
Talus Vortex with the Talus Power Pro option supports advanced, low-power designs, including voltage island support, automatic MTCMOS switch insertion, and dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS).
