See DesignWare PCI Express 3.0, USB 3.0, NVM Express VIP, and Virtualizer in Action For over a decade, the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) has been Intel's premier conference, helping to shape the direction of tomorrow's technology. IDF brings together people from every part of the technology world to experience visionary keynotes, technology and industry insights, and technical sessions (including lectures, interactive panels, hands-on labs and hot topic Q&As). In addition, the Technology Showcase hosts exhibits and demonstrations from Intel and leading technology companies.
Synopsys will showcase its latest developments in DesignWare® IP for PCI Express® and USB, NVM VIP, as well as its Virtual Prototyping Solutions, in the SuperSpeed USB and General Communities.
Dates: September 11-13, 2012
Where: Moscone Center West, 800 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
Technology Showcase Hours: Tuesday, September 11, 5:00pm-7:00pm
Wednesday, September 12, 11:00am-1:00pm & 4:00pm-7:00pm
Thursday, September 13, 11:00am-2:00pm

General Community
Synopsys Booth #711
- DesignWare IP for PCI Express 3.0 Performance at 8.0 GT/s
This demonstration will showcase the benefits of the high-performance PCI Express 3.0 interface operating at 8.0 GT/s. We will show the performance throughput of a PC using an endpoint application designed with DesignWare IP for PCI Express 3.0. In addition, a LeCroy Summit T3 Protocol Analyzer will show compliance to the PCI Express 3.0 specification.
- Using Synopsys VIP and Protocol Analyzer to Improve Verification Productivity for PCI Express Designs
This demonstration starts by describing Synopsys' Verification IP (VIP) for PCI Express, including its software equivalent application layers and support for NVM Express. It then shows how the VIP integrates with Protocol Analyzer, Synopsys' new protocol-aware debug environment. The Synopsys VIP for PCI Express is based on 100% SystemVerilog architecture and includes support for UVM, SystemVerilog, Verilog and C.
- SuperSpeed USB Community
- SuperSpeed USB Controller and PHY Operating as Mass Storage Device at 4+ Gbps
See the DesignWare SuperSpeed USB Device Controller and PHY execute the world's fastest USB 3.0 transfers. Running on a HAPS® FPGA-based platform, the IP operates as a USB 3.0 mass storage device. Visit our booth to see how you can prototype and implement Synopsys' silicon-proven USB 3.0 IP to speed your time-to-market.
- 4+ Gbps SuperSpeed USB xHCI Host Controller and PHY Interoperability
This demo, executed on a HAPS FPGA-based platform, will show the fastest USB 3.0 transfers in the world using the DesignWare USB 3.0 xHCI Host Controller and PHY operating as a standard USB 3.0 host. It will also demonstrate USB 3.0 Gold Tree interoperability on dozens of USB devices used for certification testing. DesignWare USB 3.0 IP is fully certified and tested with the USB 3.0 Gold Tree and is shipping now.
- Accelerate USB 3.0 Driver Development with Virtual Prototyping
This demo will showcase a Virtualizer Development Kit (VDK) and how device drivers can be quickly and easily created for IP, like USB 3.0 and Audio Subsystems. Just like a Software Development Kit (SDK), a well-accepted enablement kit to develop application code, a VDK targets efficient software development. VDKs contain a virtual prototype of a target board, debugging and analysis tools, sample software and enable out-of-the-box software development. We will showcase how a VDK enables a software developer to start work now without waiting for physical hardware, along with the visibility and control advantages virtual prototypes provide for debugging and developing software.
