System Design

System DesignSynphony Model Compiler
Synphony Model Compiler (MC) provides easy and automated ways to create signal processing hardware for FPGA and ASIC. The solution includes flexible signal processing IP cores that achieve high quality-of-results across ASIC and various FPGA vendors, families, and devices. Design and verification productivity are increased by using the MATLAB/Simulink environment for simulation and debug, where Synphony MC provides unique technologies to speed simulation for RTL and mixed RTL and high-level design. Synphony also simplifies system validation by providing fast C/C++ models of your hardware for simulation in C-based environments like SystemC. VCS® X-Prop
Industry leaders of today’s most advanced SoCs rely on the Synopsys VCS functional verification solution to develop their high-quality designs. A new feature in VCS, VCS X-Propagation (X-Prop), detects hidden X bugs as early as in the RTL simulation process to reduce gate-level simulation efforts. This technology works with all other VCS technology, including coverage, native low power simulation, and debug. VCS X-Prop has been deployed to production since 2010 and validated by several SNUG papers. Contact your local support team if you would like to try VCS X-Prop.

Certitude™ Functional Qualification

ImplementationIntroducing Galaxy Custom Router
Galaxy Custom Router is a shape-based router that provides automatic routing for complex high-speed digital and mixed-signals nets that require carefully crafted, high-quality layouts, such as shielded buses or nets, differential pairs, twisted pairs and matched resistance and capacitance (RC) routing. Galaxy Custom Router enables IC Compiler™ users to create high-quality routing patterns for difficult routing tasks. Users can pre-route sensitive nets using a rich set of custom routing options and continue with IC Compiler to complete the physical implementation. This new shape-based router delivers 2 to 5X productivity improvements over manual efforts and is ready for use with advanced designs by offering support for 20-nm and smaller process technology design rules, including double-patterning.

ManufacturingLightTools®
As part of Synopsys’ Optical Design solutions, LightTools delivers tools that support virtual prototyping, simulation, optimization, and photorealistic renderings of illumination applications. These capabilities enable users to more easily explore design alternatives, study light behavior, and improve product quality early in the design process. The latest release of LightTools, version 8.0, helps designers accelerate innovation by adding several new 3D objects, application-specific utilities, and enhancements to parametric controls to simplify the design of state-of-the-art lighting components.
