Synopsys HAPS-70 Series Wins Electronic Design Magazine’s 2012 Best Electronic Design Award 

Each year, a group of editors at Electronic Design Magazine convene to select the year’s best technologies, products and standards for the Best Electronic Design Awards. The final award selection is based on content published within the last 12 months. The Synopsys HAPS-70 Series received the honor of being one of the winners of the 2012 Best Electronic Design Award in the EDA category.

“Synopsys won a Best Electronic Design Award for its new HAPS-70 Series FPGA-based prototyping systems based on a 3X jump in system performance while at the same time increasing prototyping capacity to 144 Million ASIC gates,” said Joe Desposito, editor in chief at Electronic Design. “Engineers faced with designing ever larger and more complex SoCs will relish these improvements.”

Synopsys’ newest FPGA-based prototyping solution, the HAPS-70 series, provides the most comprehensive and fully integrated prototyping solution featuring:

  • Up to 3X performance increase—supported by Synopsys’ High-Speed Time-Domain Multiplexing (HSTDM) and enhanced HapsTrak 3 technologies
  • A scalable prototyping system featuring the latest generation of Xilinx® Virtex®-7 FPGAs to support up to 144 million ASIC gates to accommodate designs ranging from individual IP blocks to complete SoCs
  • Accelerates multi-FPGA partitioning by up to 10X to automate design logic partitioning and ease system bring-up
