YEREVAN, Armenia – September 24, 2007 - Synopsys, Inc., a world leader in semiconductor design software, today announced that over three hundred employees of Synopsys Armenia closed joint stock company (CJSC) and members of their families participated in a mass cleaning of Pantheon Park in Yerevan. The event was organized under the auspices of the Synopsys Community Volunteer Program during Synopsys Week in Armenia, and was coordinated to coincide with Synopsys Armenia’s new site opening. The event was sponsored by the Synopsys for Armenia Charitable Foundation and supported by the Armenia Tree Project Charitable Foundation (ATP).
Among the Synopsys leaders taking an active part in the cleaning were Chi-Foon Chan, president and chief operating officer at Synopsys, Rich Goldman, vice president for Strategic Market Development at Synopsys and chief operating officer of Synopsys Armenia CJSC, Joe Mastroianni, vice president of Engineering, AMSG, Fabio Angelillis, vice president of Engineering, SEG, Brian Gordon, group director, Research and Development, SEG, Hovik Musayelyan, general manager of Synopsys Armenia CJSC, and Andrew Hovhannisyan, deputy general manager of Synopsys Armenia CJSC.
Since its first year in Armenia in November 2004, Synopsys has invested millions of dollars in research and development in Armenia, as well as into building its new site in Yerevan. The company also strives to be a good corporate citizen and continuously contributes to the progress of Armenian society by helping to improve the educational system of the country and by implementing other assistance programs through its Armenia-based Synopsys for Armenia Charitable Foundation. The company views the volunteer park cleaning by its employees as part of the team’s contribution to the environment of its host country.
