History
On September 24, 2007, RAU became a member of the Synopsys Worldwide University Program by cooperation agreement between Synopsys Armenia CJSC and RAU. The program has also established the Common University Chair, “Microelectronics Circuits and Systems,” collaborating mainly with the Physics-technical, Applied Mathematics and Informatics faculties. The Chair functions in the premises of RAU. Dr. Ashot Harutyunyan has been the Head of the Chair of "Microelectronic Circuits and Systems" since its establishment.

- In 2007, Synopsys President and Chief Operating Officer, Chi-Foon Chan, was awarded the degree of Honorable Doctor of RAU.
- In 2007, Rich Goldman was conferred the “Honored Member of Russian-Armenian University Friendship Club” Award.
The joint efforts of Synopsys Armenia and RAU have resulted in training many highly qualified specialists who contribute to the national engineering workforce.
