Message from the RA Prime Minister

Tigran Sargsyan
Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia

I wholeheartedly congratulate the organizers and participants of the Seventh Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia, held in the framework of Synopsys Week in Armenia.

The development of the information technology sector in our country requires initiatives that are implemented continuously and consistently and require long-term investments. One such initiative is the Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia. The declared objectives of this initiative fully address the problems existing in the field of information technology today. Such initiatives enable the discovery and encouragement of the best students, inspiring and motivating the young generation from an early age to choose a career in the IT sector, which is of a strategic importance to Armenia. Armenian participants have been winning first prizes consistently over the past years, and this attest to the fact that the microelectronics education in Armenia is competitive with and comparable to the international standards of education. The growing recognition and reputation of the Olympiad is reflected in the number (349 participants) and the geographic diversity (12 countries) of last year’s participants.

I am thankful to Synopsys Armenia for skillfully organizing the Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia. I am also greatly appreciative of the fact that the Olympiad is conducted on the basis of a partnership and that it has gained the sponsorship of many reputable companies. I would like to especially acknowledge VivaCell-MTS, the general sponsor of the Olympiad. Once again, I want to thank the organizers and wish the best of luck to the participants of the Seventh Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia.
