Rich Goldman is the vice president of Corporate Marketing and Strategic Alliances for Synopsys and CEO of Synopsys Armenia, which the National Assembly of The Republic of Armenia proclaimed the best company in the country in 2005, and a finalist for the 2010 US Secretary of State ACE Award. His current responsibilities include Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Events, Creative Services, Web, Market Research, Executive Speaking placement and preparation, Community and Employee Communications, Strategic Alliances, University Programs, Standards, and Industry Relations. Director of Synopsys Armenia
Dr. Hovik Musayelyan is the Director of Synopsys Armenia CJSC. He also serves as the Director of the Synopsys for Armenia Charitable Foundation. Dr. Musayelyan is a member of the Executive Board of the State Engineering University of Armenia, member of the Board of Trustees of the European Regional Educational Academy and International Informatization Academy’s (Canada) Active Member. He is the head of the Committee of the Annual Educational Awards of the RA President to the best IT students and a member of the RA Presidential Award Committee in the Areas of Science, Education and Technology in Armenia. About “Synopsys for Armenia” Charitable FoundationThe charitable foundation “Synopsys for Armenia” was established by Synopsys Inc. in July 2005. The foundation serves as an effective tool in supporting Synopsys’ R&D operations in Armenia through sponsorship of a number of educational and social initiatives. Its activities are divided into two program sections: educational and social. The Foundation’s educational programs include support to all Synopsys educational programs for ongoing professional engineering education, conducted in cooperation with major Armenia and regional universities. The Foundation also funds the
Annual Educational Awards of the Republic of Armenia (RA) President to the best IT students and sponsors various IT-related contests targeting students and young professionals such as
Annual Armenian Microelectronics Olympiad. The foundation’s social activities primarily aim to assist the local communities.
Corporate Social Responsibility Programs
Synopsys places a high value on the partnerships we have developed in the locations where we live as members of the community, and where we do business as a company. Many of Synopsys Armenia employees are active participants of the Synopsys Community Volunteer Program. Examples of employee contributions include arranging a collection of toys and other necessary items for local orphanages, visits to orphanages, arranging orphanage children’s art-works exhibition-sales at Synopsys and tree plantings in Yerevan Parks, in cooperation with Armenia Tree Project NGO.

Tree plantings

- 2012, October 6, 1000 trees were planted in the area surrounding the State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA) and the Synopsys Armenia Education Department (SAED) grounds in Yerevan.
- 2011, October 9, 600 trees were planted in the area surrounding the European Regional Educational Academy and the Chess Academy of Armenia in Yerevan
- 2010, October 30, 600 trees were planted in the Tsitsernakaberd Park
- 2009, October 31, 400 trees were planted in Malatia-Sebastia district of Yerevan
- 2008, November 2, 400 trees were planted on the hillside in Nor Nork district in Yerevan
- 2007, November 3, 400 trees were planted in the Tsitsernakaberd Park
- 2006, November 11, 400 trees were planted in the WWII Victory Park
In 2007 our program included cleanup of the Pantheon public park next to the new Synopsys Armenia site.
On December 18-25, 2012 exhibition sale of disabled children and young people art works from PYUNIC was organized at Synopsys Armenia for the second time.
On December 11-13, 2012 charitable book sale was organized at Synopsys Armenia main lobby.
During May 2012, Synopsys Armenia raised money to fund eye surgeries for local children in need. Fundraising was dedicated to Synopsys’ 25th anniversary.
On December 14-16, 2011 exhibition sale of disabled children and young people art works from PYUNIC was organized at Synopsys Armenia
During October 2011, charitable money raising event with a slogan “2$ from each Employee” was organized at Synopsys Armenia.
On December 22 and December 23, 2010 an exhibition sale of disabled children art works from Prkutyun NGO was organized at Synopsys Armenia CJSC.
On September 3, 2010 Synopsys Armenia CSJC opened a computer classroom at the PYUNIC Armenian Association for the Disabled.
On May 19, 2010 the Step by Step Benevolent Foundation organized a charitable sale of books for children in the R&D center of Synopsys Armenia CJSC.
On June 1, 2009 Synopsys Armenia and Armenian State Youth Orchestra (chief conductor Sergey Smbatyan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding about joint fulfillment of events. This MOU signing is another demonstration of Synopsys Armenia fulfilling the corporate values as a good corporate citizen, and intends to widely disseminate cultural wealth in the community.
The Synopsys Community Champion Award for 2008 went to Synopsys Armenia. Dr. Gayane Markosyan, Senior University Program Coordinator at Synopsys Armenia (Marketing and Business Development Group) awarded with the Synopsys Community Champion Award for 2008.
