Synopsys Armenia Overview 

Synopsys Armenia closed joint stock company (CJSC) provides R&D and product support in EDA, design for manufacturing (DFM) and the development of semiconductor intellectual property (IP). Synopsys Armenia has been investing in local IT education since 2004 to help provide Armenia with highly qualified IT specialists. Through the Synopsys Armenia Educational Department (SAED), Synopsys Armenia provides technology, tools and resources for teaching and academic research. Under the umbrella of the Synopsys University Program, SAED has developed a competitive curricula based on a proven "Industry/University" Education Model of cooperation between industry and academia. Synopsys Armenia is engaged in a number of successful cooperation programs with major universities in Armenia and the region, such as National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA), Yerevan State University (YSU), Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, European Regional Educational Academy (EREA), and the MIET National Research University of Electronic Technology. The company consistently promotes public interest in the high tech industry among young specialists and students by sponsoring Annual Educational Awards of the Republic of Armenia (RA) President to the best IT students and the Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia.

Synopsys Armenia’s investment in the community reaches well beyond IT, with company employees regularly engaging in charity work and volunteer activities. In 2005 National Assembly of The Republic of Armenia proclaimed Synopsys Armenia as the best company in the country. In 2010, Synopsys in Armenia was recognized as one of 12 finalists for the U.S. Secretary of State’s Annual Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE), citing the company’s technology and financial leadership as well as its corporate social responsibility.


Yervant Zorian Chief Architect and Fellow at Synopsys, President of Synopsys Armenia

Dr. Yervant Zorian is a Chief Architect and Fellow at Synopsys, President of Synopsys Armenia. Formerly, he was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff AT&T Bell Laboratories, Vice President and Chief Scientist of Virage Logic, and Chief Technologist at LogicVision. He is currently the President of IEEE Test Technology Technical Council (TTTC), the founder and chair of the IEEE 1500 Standardization Working Group, the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the IEEE Design and Test of Computers and an Adjunct Professor at University of British Columbia. He served on the Board of Governors of Computer Society and CEDA, was the Vice President of IEEE Computer Society, and the General Chair of the 50th Design Automation Conference (DAC) and several other symposia and workshops. Hovik Musayelyan Director of Synopsys Armenia

Dr. Hovik Musayelyan is the Director of Synopsys Armenia CJSC. He is a member of the Executive Board of the State Engineering University of Armenia, member of the Board of Trustees of the European Regional Educational Academy Hovik Musayelyan is also a Yerevan State University Board member. He is the head of the Committee of the Annual Educational Award of the President of the Republic of Armenian in IT Sphere. He also chairs the Executive Board of the Global Award of the President of the Republic of Armenia for Outstanding Contribution to Humanity through IT. Dr. Musayelyan is a member of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Board of Directors, as well as a Board member of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies. Community Involvement
Synopsys places a high value on the partnerships we have developed in the locations where we live as members of the community, and where we do business as a company. Many of Synopsys Armenia employees are active participants of the Synopsys Community Volunteer Program. Examples of employee contributions include arranging a collection of toys and other necessary items for local orphanages, visits to orphanages, arranging orphanage children's art-works exhibition-sales, and charitable crafts fairs of Armenia employees’ handmade items at Synopsys,tree plantings as well as Park cleanings in Yerevan Parks, arranged in cooperation with Armenia Tree Project NGO and Yerevan Municipality.
