Synopsys Armenia closed joint stock company (CJSC) provides R&D and product support in EDA, design for manufacturing (DFM) and the development of semiconductor intellectual property (IP). Synopsys Armenia has been investing in local IT education since 2004 to help provide Armenia with highly qualified IT specialists. Through the Synopsys Armenia Educational Department (SAED), Synopsys Armenia provides technology, tools and resources for teaching and academic research. Under the umbrella of the Synopsys University Program, SAED has developed a competitive curricula based on a proven "Industry/University" Education Model of cooperation between industry and academia. Synopsys Armenia is engaged in a number of successful cooperation programs with major universities in Armenia and the region, such as State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA), Yerevan State University (YSU), Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, European Regional Educational Academy (EREA), and the MIET National Research University of Electronic Technology. The company consistently promotes public interest in the high tech industry among young specialists and students by sponsoring Annual Educational Awards of the Republic of Armenia (RA) President to the best IT students and the Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia. Synopsys Armenia is the initiator of the Global IT Award of the RA President and “Best IT Manager” Award conducted under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
Synopsys Armenia’s investment in the community reaches well beyond IT, with company employees regularly engaging in charity work and volunteer activities. In 2005 National Assembly of The Republic of Armenia proclaimed Synopsys Armenia as the best company in the country. In 2010, Synopsys in Armenia was recognized as one of 12 finalists for the U.S. Secretary of State’s Annual Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE), citing the company’s technology and financial leadership as well as its corporate social responsibility.
