ArmTech Congress’11
Armenia’s Global High Tech Industry Conference

The fourth Global Armenian High Tech Business Conference ArmTech Congress’11 will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia on October 10-11, 2011, at the Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan, under the theme “Learning from the past and inventing the future”.

The conference will be held with the assistance of the RA Ministry of Economy, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Synopsys Armenia, and Armenian Development Agency. Main sponsor of the conference is VivaCell-MTS.

Considering the fact that the Armenian IT industry has reported an essential growth for recent years and has a strong influence on country’s economic competitiveness and effectiveness, I think, the ArmTech Congress is one of the main environments that gathering together both local and foreign IT specialists will suggest new solutions to be applied in various sectors of the country’s economy”, said Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan.

ArmTech Congress is designed to further the success of Armenia’s high-tech industry, a priority in the country’s progressive economic development program and to contribute to strengthening international interactions, attracting new investments and creating a large professional network.

“This year we celebrate Armenia's 20th anniversary of independence by hosting the fourth ArmTech Congress in Yerevan. Building on the great success of the latest ArmTech Congress in Silicon Valley, I expect another strong lineup of speakers, uniquely bringing together key decision makers from government, academia and business to drive forward the ArmTech platform focused on improving the competitiveness of Armenia's growing high tech economy”, said Rich Goldman, the Co-founder of ArmTech, VP for Corporate Marketing and Strategic Alliances at Synopsys, CEO of Synopsys Armenia.

ArmTech Congress ’11 will bring together a wide range of participants including high-tech industry business leaders and corporate executives, as well as representatives of universities, research centers and related global organizations and government officials from Armenia, the U.S., Russia, European and CIS countries and elsewhere around the world. The event will focus on Armenia’s current and future successful participation in a dynamic global economy with emphasis on its high-tech industry and related businesses.

“The country, which is not sufficiently interested in the sphere of information technologies, cannot provide a smart shift of generations. Our people have had and continue to have very particular attitude toward science and education, which is very important and deserves encouragement. Obviously, we realize success in brainstorming is one of the most important competitive advantages. After all, having high quality and competitive workforce is one of the cornerstones of economic development. I welcome participants of ArmTech and wish them fruitful work,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

The government of the RA stresses the importance of ArmTech Congress as a platform to discuss, plan and execute policies and actions to keep Armenia on its current path of steady technological and economic achievement. The conference also serves to increase global recognition of Armenia as one of the fastest growing high-tech destinations in the world.
