First stage of the Third Armenian Microelectronics Olympiad

On September 18 2008, in the R&D center of Synopsys Armenia CJSC, the Third Armenian Microelectronics Olympiad took place. The Third Armenian Microelectronics Olympiad included participants from Gyumri for the first time. The Olympiad was held in two stages. Students from higher educational institutions as well as specialists of microelectronics companies were among participants.

The first stage was held in the format of a quiz in Gyumri on September 16, 2008, and on September 18 in Yerevan. The participants were given tests and relatively simple assignments. The best participants passed to the second stage, held on September 25 2008, consisting of more complex problems requiring particular solutions. 32 participants (5 of which were from Gyumri) passed to the second stage. The first stage involved 115 participants (15 of which were from Gyumri)

The festive ceremony of awarding 14 winners of the Third Armenian Microelectronics Olympiad took place on October 1, 2008 at the Congress Hotel. The winners of the previous Armenian Microelectronics Olympiads, representatives of Olympiad sponsors and other top-level guests were also present.
