Enabling Analog Customer Design Interoperability

Technical Presentations: How EDA Vendors Approach Interoperability
Panel Discussion: Unleash PDKs with Open Standards
Process Design Kits (PDKs) are the essential link between designers and foundries which define the manner for design data interchange. Standardization of PDKs in open format from EDA vendors is necessary to simplify the designer's task, reduce foundry workload and increase productivity through automation. The OpenKit (OK) initiative attempted to bring order to the existing chaos but there is still a long way to go. Can PDKs really be standardized? What are the challenges of building an open PDK? What should EDA companies and semiconductor foundries focus on first? A panel of industry experts in design, tool development and semiconductor manufacturing will debate these questions and discuss the state of the design kits today and the need for further standardization.

Power to the People!
Panel Discussion: Power to the People
There has been an uprising in the industry! Customers have cried out against oppressive, proprietary standards for describing low power design intent. They have rebelled against closed activities that are not fast or inclusive. Several factions have come together to make the world a better place for low power design. The speakers on this panel are experts in the fields of low power design and electronic design standards. They are well-qualified to discuss the subject of low power design challenges. All were participants in the Si2/Accellera Low Power Workshop and have been engaged in activities that have ensued since mid-year when the outcry for an open, quick, inclusive standard was heard.
